Snowmobile Patrol

The Sheriff's Department currently has (2) 900cc Yamaha Snowmobiles which regularly patrol the numerous miles of snowmobile trails located in the Hilltowns of Albany County. The members of the snowmobile patrol are specially trained officers who use these Snowmobiles as patrol units during the winter months, to reach some of the inaccessible areas of the county.. The snowmobile Patrol responds to winter emergencies such as Injured Skiers, Snowmobile Accidents and Lost / Injured Hunters. Prior to the snowmobile season these Deputies instruct the New York State Snowmobile Safety courses.
